About The Founder
The Backbone of Australian Adventure Riding
John Hudson isn’t just a name in the ADV world — he’s the bloke who shaped it.
A former KTM factory desert racer, John built his reputation riding at speed across Australia’s harshest and most remote terrain. That elite racing background naturally evolved into a lifetime of exploration, route design, and long-distance adventure riding.
He holds an unsupported Australia crossing record, completing a brutal solo run from Steep Point (WA) to Byron Bay Lighthouse (NSW) — via the Gunbarrel Highway and the Simpson Desert — in just 72 hours. No backup. No support car. No safety net. Just a rider, a bike, and the entire continent in front of him.
John also founded the APC Rally, Australia’s original long-distance navigation rally. Since 2010, his routes and philosophy have shaped hundreds of riders — big days, real navigation, remote tracks, and zero guided-tour fluff.
Today, John is also a development advisor for Nomad Moto. With decades of hard-earned experience and hundreds of thousands of off-road kilometres, John helps refine and field-test Nomad Moto products. If a piece of gear survives John, it’s ready for any rider.
John Hudson:
Rider. Navigator. Record Holder. Mentor.
A lifetime of adventure — and still going.
